Okay, so, as everyone knows, the 2008 Bittercold Showdown has come and gone. And it was great. Easily one of the most exciting contests this seasoned contest reporter has covered or attended in a long time. The electricity of the crowd was high, the level of skating even higher, and the outside temperature was low. Snow fell on the host city of Columbus, Ohio, as hundred of bladers shredded the park and their hotel rooms. Check out our photos here for more insight into the event, and be sure to check out full coverage in the next issue of ONE.

K. Dirty gets some face time with Justin from ONE, while Daniel Kinney passes by in the background. If you haven’t seen it, check out KD’s “Dirty Show” DVD. Good to see you man!

Dre “DD” Powell was in the house. He swears he caught a fish “this big.”

“Janimal” Welch with Dowling and Jon Elliott, hanging out Friday before the main event.

Cameron Card and “I’m in almost every picture on this post” Dowling.

Is that the eye of the tiger? Must be, one day later this dude had an extra 5k in his pocket.

Winterclash champ Erik Bailey chilling in the ONE room. Anyone wanna place bets on when that ’stache will get trimmed?

The ONE tradeshow spread. Simple but sweet.

The Revolution Skateshop booth was well-stocked.

The Casualty Deerhunter hoodie was a good choice for battling the bitter cold Ohio temperatures.

More of the goods at the Revolution booth.

Our man Tom Hyser and his latest ATL prodigy David Sizemore. This was before David outfitted himself in those crazy orange pants.

Part of the tradeshow mob. I swear there was even more commerce going down than last year.

Mike Lilly was lurking about. Wes found him.

ONE friend and de facto legend Robert Lievanos chatting with Drew “Blood” Bachrach. Be sure to peep Drew’s edit in “Clip 4.” It’s sick.

Before splitting his shin wide open, Michael Braud was lacing with his trademark reckless abandon. Here he gets high with a wallride.

The always-polite Ross Kuhn busting Top Acid to Fakie.

Kingpin Chris Haffey with a lofty 540 transfer over the grind box.

His 540 from the vert extension into the bank won him Best Trick, but this quarter to bank 720 is signature Morales.

Not only did Jon Jon Bolino volunteer to tag the park with ONE stickers before the comp (thanks man!), but he killed the park all day with progressive tricks like this Cross Grab 360 to Soul.

Colin Kelso showing us what style is all about with a Zero Makio to Darkside Fishbrain down the grind box. Too fresh.

Remember we mentioned that Gumby jacked his shin up? Well, this is what it looked like. Didn’t stop our man from hitting the premiere/after party later that night!

Yes, that’s right, Josh Petty and Brandon Campbell showed up at BCSD. We were just as surprised as you, but stoked out for sure.

The fabulous Chris Brown was doing his thang.

Chris Edwards, man. Can you dig it?

What, the weekend is over? Jon Elliott can’t believe it.
